This Saturday, October 17, the ADCC Open New Jersey comes to Adventure Crossing USA in Jackson Township. Here's everything you need to know: the event, the Illuminati Grappling Club connection, and how to watch.
It's fight week in New Jersey. This Saturday, October 17, the ADCC Open New Jersey takes over Adventure Crossing USA in Jackson Township.
If you've read our ADCC World Championship recap — the post that 6,000+ of you read — you already know what ADCC-rules grappling looks like. No points in the first half. Penalties for pulling guard without a submission attempt. A ruleset that rewards finishing. The Open series is where it starts: the regional path that feeds into ADCC Trials and, eventually, the World Championship stage.
This is the biggest submission grappling event in New Jersey this fall.

The Illuminati Grappling Club connection
Since 2022, Keren has trained once a week for competition with Jay Regalbuto (@smashpassjay) and the Illuminati Grappling Club. Those weekly competition classes started at Freedom Jiu Jitsu and Underground Arts, moved to Webb MMA, and have been a core part of how Keren trains for competition. Keren is looking forward to getting back on the mats there in 2027.
Jay is one of the most respected figures in the ADCC community. A BJJ black belt under Steve Bongiorno through the Ricardo Almeida association, he is best known as the coach who launched Nick Rodriguez into the grappling world. Rodriguez started training under Jay in June 2018, and just over a year later he won silver at the 2019 ADCC World Championship — where Jay promoted him to purple belt on the podium. Jay has also coached Danielle Kelly for her ONE Championship bout against Mariia Molchanova, and he serves as ADCC Head Judge and commentator.
Jay is still in Keren's corner today. When she steps on the mat for big matches, he's the one coaching her.
Jay doesn't only corner Keren. At the last ADCC Open in New Jersey, he was coaching Molli from the edge of the mat. This Saturday the Open is back in New Jersey.
Come cheer. Follow results.
