A summer gathering for women who train

I told Paige on a call recently that I needed to train with her and Rana again. She laughed and said, “Then we’ll come to you.” That is how the idea took root. No back and forth. No delay. We moved. Summer was calling, and we answered.

I met Paige three years ago at the East Coast Women's No Gi Camp hosted by Laura Kent. We clicked instantly. Two Leos, encouraging each other like we had been friends for years. A year ago, I helped her with her first camp. Travel, photos, small details. Paige has this bright, natural energy. She sees everyone, and somehow makes the whole room better just by being in it.

I met Rana last year at Legion. We rolled twice. Both rounds were full of wild scrambles. I got tapped four or five times in a row and laughed through it. She is quiet but powerful. Present. And what struck me most was her rank. Still a blue belt. No shortcuts. No talk. Just earning her way forward. That stuck with me. That is respect.

This weekend is built for women who train. Gi and No Gi, good people, honest work, and space to breathe. There is no scene here. Just learning, connection, and the type of energy that stays with you long after the mats are swept.
